Recipes

Full disclosure, I am a terrible cook. I come from a long line of terrible cooks.  The only thing my Mother taught me in the kitchen was a white sauce (which I’m really good at).  Sadly though, for all other recipes, I lack basic patience and finesse.

I realised though, when I made my light bulb connection between how I was feeling and what I was eating, that I would have to get on with it and learn some basic healthy recipes that would tick the quick, easy and tasty boxes.  You’ll be delighted to know that I have extended my repertoire, and I’ll be adding more recipes here over time. You can be assured though that if I include it here, it will be super easy to follow and super healthy. Trust me, if I can make a recipe a crowd pleaser, anyone can!

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream

I don’t know if this even qualifies as a recipe as it is ridiculously easy to make, but it tastes super delicious and my kids love this instead of regular ice-cream.  Some of the neighbour’s kids are hooked too – honestly! You can mess around with this to...

No-bake Carrot Cake Energy Bites

I’ve tried to think of a more appealing name for these as they taste so much better than they sound. Again, these are incredibly easy to make.  My 11-year-old can whip them up in a few minutes and she has yet to master boiling an egg, so you get the picture....

Porridge and Buckwheat Bread

This bread was another game changer for me in my quest for great health. I know I’m not reinventing the wheel here, but this is one of those recipes I come back to again and again. It’s been perfected over years for both taste...

Resources: My Go-to Advice for Healthy Living

One of the reasons I became a professional health coach was because I was feeling bamboozled. And I’m very nosy. I instinctively wanted to learn everything I could to help people feel better, but every time I did my research, I would get stuck down endless rabbit holes.  There was just too much information, too much choice.  A constant information overload everywhere I looked.

I decided to get qualified so I could differentiate between what was just noise and what actually was valuable information.  This coupled with my innate nosiness means you don’t have to waste endless hours scrolling through social media or listening to samey podcasts.  I have curated  many hours of research and rabbit holes into recommended reading and listening that are scientifically backed and trusted.  I’ll be adding to it according to how much time I spend down those rabbit holes:  You’re welcome!

Books That Have Genuinely Shaped How I Think About Health

If you’re someone who likes to understand the “why”, books can be incredibly powerful. The ones below aren’t about rules, restriction, or perfection — they’re about adding goodness, building habits that stick, and seeing health in a much broader, kinder way. These are...

f you’re feeling overwhelmed by nutrition advice or not sure where to begin, this is a great place to start. These are resources I regularly recommend because they’re clear, evidence-based, and genuinely helpful — without being preachy or complicated. You don’t need...
